A Trip to the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary

We went on a great hike this weekend to the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary in Topsfield. We went with my best buddy John and his family. It was a lot of fun and we saw some really cool things. It was one of the hottest days of the year. So we started early and went for ice cream afterwards. Check out the photos of my fun filled day.

Rockery Pond

John and his Dad were expert trail guides. They discovered all the neat things. Here John points out some turtles .

Snakes on a beaver dam, turtles on a log, a cool tree, and a bird in the hand.

Sammy is 7

My cousin Sammy celebrated his 7th birthday this weekend. It was a great party. I got to see my cousins, splash in the pool, and eat cake. There was a pinata too. Check out the pictures.

Seven candles for Sammy. Notice the tag on the hat. All the cool kids are doing it.

The gang gets ready to whack the pinata.

Rheanna takes a good whack.

Happy Birthday Sammy!

Lennon's Top 3 Ways to Beat the Heat

It's sure been hot lately. Here are my top 3 ways to beat the heat:

#3 - Take a nice walk in the woods. Lots of trees, a cool hat, a flowing river, and a daddy to carry you; that's one way to keep cool. Here's Daddy and me by the Shawsheen River in Den Rock Park.

#2 - Perform household chores in nothing but water shoes and a diaper. Adults trying this should take extra care when using high powered vacuums.

#1 - Go skinny dipping!!! That's what summer's for.

Stay cool,
Lennon

Michigan State University Campus Tour

I know I may be a bit young, but I've begun touring college campuses. I still have a few years to decide which one is right for me, but MSU was pretty nice.

Here I am with Mommy and Papa outside Spartan Stadium. Maybe someday I'll be a Spartan.

Here's their upcoming home football schedule. According to one guy at ESPN, the Spartans have the 8th toughest schedule in the country. I guess the road games will be rough, because the home schedule doesn't look so bad (although the Michigan game should be a doozy).

We brought a picnic lunch and Papa found the perfect spot. We ate on the banks of the Red Cedar River near the Beal Botanical Gardens. It was really a great picnic.

Here I am by some pretty flowers.

Thanks Dr. Beal.

This is a paw paw tree. One of my favorite songs is the Paw Paw Song. I learned it in my music class. Now I know what a Paw Paw is.

We found it in the injurious plant section. I guess not everybody should pick up a paw paw and put it in their pocket.

Here I am at a fountain in front of the libraries.

I helped Grammy get some leaves out of the fountain.

This is the Beaumont Tower.
