Birthday Party

We had a party on Sunday to celebrate my 1st birthday (although my real Birthday is Tuesday). My Papa, my Auntie Lee Ann and Uncle John, my Uncle Glen, and my cousins CJ, Sammy and Will all helped me celebrate.

We had a great one fish, two fish cake that Mommy made. And we ate some delicious lasagna that Mommy also made. I also got some great presents.

I missed all of those who could not make it, but here are some pictures so you can feel like you were there.

Love,
Lennon

My mommy made these delicious cakes.

We had lots of great balloons to play with.

Everyone sang Happy Birthday to me. I was the center of attention.

Papa and Mommy sang.

Uncle Glen, Auntie Lee Ann, and CJ all sang too.

CJ and Sammy thought the singing and the cake were great.

Uncle John and Will add their approval.

Daddy holds up Will. He's getting big.

Sammy and Papa admire the cakes.

I got to eat birthday cake for the first time.

It was real messy, but it tasted great.

Daddy, CJ and Sammy helped me open my presents.

All my presents were wonderful. Thank you everybody.

My First Haircut

I went for my first real haircut today (Mommy trimmed it before, but this time was the real deal). We went to Snip-its in North Andover. A real nice lady cut my hair. She did a great job. I look pretty spiffy now and I'm ready to celebrate my first birthday in style.

Check out the photos.

This nice lady cut my hair. She has a little boy at home too.

I was real good and I only fidgeted a little.

I got little hairs all over me.

The scissors were clipping furiously.

Well I was a real good boy most of the time.

A tear shed for lost hair.

All cleaned up and looking handsome.

I even got a certificate for my "courage and bravery".

A Walk in the Woods

This weekend was some of the best weather we've had all year, and may have for quite sometime. Temperatures were in the 70's and it was sunny all day. Saturday was a great day to test out my new back pack carrier. We went to the Goldsmith Woodlands. It is beautiful conservation land maintained by AVIS. They have lots of great hiking trails all around town. I hope the weather stays nice so we can go on more hikes.

Here are some pictures of our walk in the woodlands.

According to the Andover Trail Guide, Bessie Goldsmith donated this land for conservation in 1974. She lived on this land and rented out cottages in the summer. Legend has that she was a bit eccentric and would pull her shotgun on folks she caught picking her blueberries. Fortunately it wasn't blueberry season and Bessie has since gone on.

I can't believe I'm following this guy. Does he even know how to read that thing?

This is from Bessie's point. She lived in a cabin here overlooking Foster's Pond.

Mommy and me contemplating the serenity of Foster's Pond on a beautiful spring day.

New Stunts

I received a new push and ride toy from Grammy and Grampy as an early birthday present!

I can push it, as long as someone makes sure it doesn't move too fast.

It has a bunch of cool toys on it that I can play with and bite.

Here I am posting some mail on a fine day.

My toy box is old hat, so

I found a way to spice it up!

I drink milk from cows once each day (unless there's something more interesting going on).

Tales of an 11-month-old

My hair is wet from taking a bath.

I LOVE my baths

and my Daddy.

Papa Leon visited us the day before Easter.

Papa always knows how to make me laugh!

My First Easter

Look at the shrub Grammy decorated for my first Easter!

It didn't take me long to find my Easter basket.

I got videos,

books, and...

a cool, baseball-shaped basket just in time for Opening Day at Fenway!

As usual the packaging was the best part.

Special Visit

At the end of March I had some special visitors...

Grammy, Ruth Ann, and Arika came to visit me for a few days!
I had a blast!
Grammy sat me in my toy box and pushed me around.
